With the aim to significantly reduce the incidence of new infections by ensuring that the general populations have access to appropriately-targeted HIV prevention; key and vulnerable populations adopt HIV risk reduction behaviour and access to HIV prevention prophylaxis; GLOHWOC through the project fostered supportive environment to facilitate access and uptake of appropriate HIV prevention services by key and vulnerable populations by addressing various barriers limiting PMTC/HIV Prevention service uptake.
Achievements
- Availability of well skilled/Trained 40 mentor mothers, 24 Traditional Birth Attendants and 4 Community Action Groups
- Strengthen facility and community based HIV prevention interventions and service delivery
- Scaled up access of a total number of 7,848 pregnant women/women of reproductive age to PMTCT services
- Provided access to routine rapid HIV testing and other HIV/AIDS information for 10,250 men and women of reproductive age.
